Camel Safari In Jodhpur

As you ride a camel in the Thar Desert, you will pass lush green fields of mustard, castor, peanuts, carrots, onion, and ker-sangri. You will  have the opportunity to witness unique desert animals, including the Blue Bull, Asia's largest antelope, and birds like peacocks, sand grouse, and partridges. 

After a 60-minute trip, you will arrive at our homestay where you can experience the Rajasthani village lifestyle. We will continue travelling to view a magnificent sunset atop a large sand dune of the Osian desert. You can have sundowners while getting that once-in-a-lifetime photo of the sunset. We'll take you back to the homestay on a camel. 

Desert Homestay Near Jodhpur

Our village homestay, rather than being a hotel, is an initiative in reality. Our goal is to bring serene and authentic vistas to our guests and create a space where you can reconnect to the land and explore a unique authentic culture. As such, we have retained the traditional essence of Rajasthani village life at our home. Rather than posh rooms we offer small dwellings in traditional mud huts with a homely feel, as well as the option of sleeping outdoors under the stars. We don't offer multiple cuisines but instead serve mouthwatering traditional Marwari meals cooked over an open wood fire (with no limit to servings!).

Jeep Safari Osian, Jodhpur

A jeep safari is the perfect way to get the exhilarating experience of diving headfirst into the sands of the Thar Desert. During our jeep safari tour you'll be able to uncover the charisma of the barren desert by exploring rural villages, sand dunes, and the unique flora and fauna of Osian. Grab your seats on the jeep to unleash your sense of adventure and excitement.

Your tour will begin with pick up in Jodhpur. We can arrange pick up from anywhere in Jodhpur city including your hotel, airport, train station or bus station. We will then travel by private car to Osian, where we will explore two renowned marble temples in the area, the Sachiya Mata Temple and Jain Temple. 

Following the temple visits we will drive to our home in a 500-year-old rural village located on the edge of the Thar desert. You will receive a traditional Rajasthani-style welcome at our family home and Rajasthani/Marwari meal cooked over an open wood fire. We will go for a 30-60 minute jeep ride where you will have the chance to see the local wildlife and flora of the Thar desert and watch the sunset from the sand dunes. We will then return by private car to Jodhpur. You will reach Jodhpur by 8:30-9:00pm.

You will receive a traditional Rajasthani-style welcome at our family home and have a few hours to relax, walk around the area, and watch the sunset from a nearby viewpoint. We will return home for a traditional Rajasthani meal, where you can participate in cooking over the open wood fire with our family. At night you will have the option of sleeping indoors in our traditional mud huts or outside under the stars. 

In the morning we will wake up and go for a sunrise camel ride in the Thar desert. Sunrise offers a chance to see lots of desert wildlife and beautiful landscapes in the morning light. 

We will then have breakfast and return by private car to Jodhpur. We will reach Jodhpur around 11-11:30am. 

We also offer the option of a jeep safari tour as part of your visit for an additional charge.
